Still, our drying process for cork stoppers is criticized after they are punched and immediately go through the triple extractive washing of tannins and polyphenols. They say it’s old-fashioned, slow, and requires too much manual labour. But the energy used comes from the sun—completely natural and free.
Moreover, after more than 25 years of working this way, the process is fully validated, and we can guarantee that it is safe and has no side effects.
The attached photo was taken yesterday, 31st March, showing the first stoppers from the 2024 campaign. We trust that until the end of August, when we finish processing all the cork, the sun will not fail us. Yesterday, we already had 25°C.
