A RECORD-BREAKING YEAR IN EVERY RESPECT

Today, October 13 (a Tuesday), temperatures have reached 30°C in the GLM 1 yard at 5 p.m., when we took the attached photograph.

We believe that, in terms of the benefits we derive from the sun, we are now in our SEVENTH MONTH OF SUMMER. It was already hot in April, and since then we have broken the record for maximum temperatures several times, with temperatures well above 45°C on many days. This is not to mention the fact that rainfall in our town is becoming increasingly scarce.

We have calculated that we have approximately 15 working days of cork stopper drilling left. Thanks to this weather, it is very likely that by the end of November we will have all the stoppers from the 2025 production campaign (which was a substantial one for us) in our main warehouse, following drilling and then triple washing, with subsequent sun-drying, as can be seen in today’s photograph. The process is followed by the work of checking and adjusting the ovality of the stoppers. In short, it has been an almost perfect year in terms of the technical performance of our cork stoppers, including the organoleptic checks we carry out periodically, with TCA levels also at record lows.

It is a pity that, despite these excellent results, we are still unable to convince people of how good it is to enjoy a fine wine, “in moderation” AND SEALED WITH A CORK STOPPER.
