THE CONTROL AND PRECISION OF OUR CUSTOMERS MAKE US BETTER

We came to this conviction, after the visit of several Italian customers and from the Ribera del Duero, to get to know a cork harvest in the Sierra de San Pedro (Cáceres) and our facilities in Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real).

In this visit that lasted from the 17th to the 20th of May, we verified the interest of the technicians and owners who visited us, to know all the details of our raw material, how it is processed and how it could be improved in the near future, so that they can be more sure of the success of their wines.

We share the commitment and responsibility with them, because we know that their wines are top-of-the-range and have very high prices and they want to obtain the maximum guarantee.

For this reason, after these 3 days, we have shown step by step, the control of the traceability of our product, fixing it on 3 fundamental pillars:

CONTROL OF THE RAW MATERIAL CORK, FROM THE FARM: On the 18th, from early in the morning and throughout the morning, the owner of the cork extracting company (D. Secundino Sánchez) and our technicians showed our customers all the details of the harvest, detailing especially the ideal moment of this, the best quality that can be obtained from cork, and the different types that are found in the harvest, as well as the classification, which GLM technicians carry out on the farm itself.

In addition to knowing different places on the farm, it was possible to know some historical trees, and the artisan way of extracting the cork, some of the guests have verified the difficulty involved in extracting the cork correctly, doing a test themselves.

At noon, the owner of the farm La Carretona gave us an excellent lunch and then we set out on our way to reach Valdepeñas that same night and be able to be at our facilities early on the 19th.

We show photos of the stay in Cáceres and the visit to the farm in La Carretona.
