CHANGE OF PROTOCOL IN THE CORK STOPPERS OF SPECIAL MEASURES

Following the suggestion of an Italian winemaker (Alessandro Dondi), our technical department studied and accepted to have a more restrictive Protocol for the cork stoppers of special measures.

Actually, we will have two specifications.

THE SPECIFICATION A will have similar determinations to the corks of 24, or 26 diameter, with the same specification. But, with the difference that, in the case of these corks, they will have the 1 by 1 process included as standard.

We are aware that these stoppers are used to cover the top wines of the wineries and that their price is also usually the highest of their bottlings. For this reason, our decision is to have a product at the required level and that technicians can fully trust cork stoppers.

THE SPECIFICATION B of the corks of special measures will not have the guarantee of the 1 by 1 process, and they will be of similar characteristics to those we have had to date. Also, of course, significantly cheaper.

This decision creates collateral damage that may be significant for some year. By controlling traceability from the field, we will only be able to manufacture these corks from the plates that we have with sufficient gauge and quality for the effect, and by restricting the densities, we will have a significant rejection that will necessarily reduce our annual stock of these corks.

Obviously, and as is logical, the price will have to change something, but we think that possibly it will not be a problem for users when they check the guarantees that they will have with the corks accepted and manufactured with our new protocol.
